The Colorado Makers of Crest and Stone

If you've recently strolled any of Denver's shopping districts or taken a lap through local craft markets like the Denver Flea or Horseshoe, it's clear the city's indie goods scene is thriving. From thoughtful and clever letterpress cards, to the perfect handmade necklace, to any kind of Colorado map t-shirt you could ever want, artisan products in the Mile High City are really amazing right now.

Local makers Shannon Moore and Chris Bridges of Crest and Stone are creating gorgeous planters and pots and helping to satisfy our obsession with succulents and cacti. Made from concrete and hand-painted in both vibrant and neutral colors, the unique wares are a side project for the couple.

"It's nice being able to work on something together when we are home, away from our day jobs," say Moore and Bridges who live in Denver. Like many local creatives, the pair gets inspiration from exploring Colorado. Both are avid runners and enjoy snowboarding and hiking on the weekends.

"When we first started working with concrete there was a lot of trial and error. Our favorite part is trying different shapes and seeing what works and looks the best. We love experimenting with different colors and designs."

The results are making our bookshelves and dining tables quite a bit more beautiful. For Denver visitors and locals, Crest and Stone pots can be found at the new Rosehouse Plants on South Broadway, and are also available online at the Crest and Stone Etsy shop.

For other cool Colorado craft finds, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 13 when the spring Horseshoe Market will take place in Denver's Berkeley neighborhood.
